Goal Setting

GOALS

I know you all know what a goal is. I'm not going to go in detail about that, I'm going to help you set goals and not get discouraged and quit. Believe me I have started over and over again. I was just so tired of it! Tired of starting the same program again and again! When I finished my first program I felt so good, and I looked good too! So after that I was completely hooked! Of course there were days when I didn't feel like working out or I didn't do it first thing in the morning so by the end of the day I was just too tired.

I figured out what my problem was and why I was stopping and starting so much. I was because my goals or expectations were so high that when I didn't reach them I was so hard on myself and I just quit. Then I would start feeling yucky/ guilty again and I would start back up.

But when I started making smaller goals that were easier to reach, I then was able to see a change not only in my body, but my mood and my whole outlook.

So I want to help you guys achieve your goals and make you feel better inside and out. I want you to think about one word when setting goals. And that word is...

SMART

S- Specific
* Define the goal as much as possible
Who is involved, What do I want to accomplish, Where will it be done, Why am I doing this, Which constraints or requirements do I have?

M- Measurable
* Can you track your progress and measure the outcome?
How much, how many, How will I know my goal is accomplished

A- Attainable/Achievable
* Is the goal reasonable enough to be accomplished? How so?
Make sure the goal is not out of reach or below standard performance

R- Relevant
* Is the goal worthwhile, will it meet your needs?
Is each goal consistent with the other goals you have established and fits in with your long term plans?

T- Timely
* Your objective should include a time limit. Ex. I will complete this step by Month/Day/Year
It will establish a sense of urgency and prompt you to have better time management.

I hope this helps you with your goals :)
